Government[]
Pre-Blood War[]
The Ashfire monarchs rule, alongside a council of ministers and nobles. These ministers cover stuff like trade or justice. Governorships were handed to the Strongwings (Pyra), Cassian's family, (Ferro), with Stel and Arboria's governors not known. The royal marriages were prearranged. Regents would rule if no heir was ot age.
Post Blood War[]
With the Ashfire family gone, the council had their power. The Strongwings were dead and Cassian's family was in exile. Pyra, now split from the empire, had no governor. Ferro got Lord Rolan, who was Councilor Halton's son, and decendant of King Rol. Not much is known on this system.
Politics[]
The Empire had a war over who'd get the throne, which had disastrous results. Pyra separated in that war. The government tried to hide phoenixes and animages to try and seperate themselves from the Ashfires and Phoenix Riders. They also tried to retake and ransack Pyra. They did, but never retook it. Animages are hated.
Holidays[]
Azurec's Day - the summer solstice. Festivals are held, and the monarch and their spouse would toss coins to crowds as their phoenixes did a light show. Sweet cakes seem to be traditional for it.
Blood War anniversary - not much is known.
History[]
After the Everlasting Flame went out, the young Elysia led the Aurans to abandon their home, and used herself and her four sisters to acquire land via wedlock. They did, and it was divided into Arborias North and South, Pyra, Stel, and Ferro. The governors were appointed, nobles chosen, and the empire had no mentioned wars for 250 years. King Aryk died due to his wife poisoning him. Lania regented. Some Stellan nobles banded together and uprose. Lania was assassinated by Avalkyra. The Blood War hit, and both heirs were killed, but Avalkyra was reborn. Veronyka was born too.
The army, which it had once been an honor to join, had turned into the group to mess with and destroy Pyra. Phoenix and animage imagery was banned. Animages were captured and turned into slaves.
