Sidra was Val's loyal servant. She willingly got a bind from Val, and would do anything for her. Her jealousy of Veronyka stems from how Val thinks her to be more valuable.

Personality[]

Sidra is an incredibly loyal person, loyal to a fault. As soon as she found out Avalkyra had returned, she didn't fight the bind, and instead gave herself up to it immediately. Unlike Doriyan who tried to atone for his wrongs, Sidra was a true minion of Val, continuing to serve her even when she decided to destroy the empire instead of rule it.

Despite this, she shows to have some measure of free-thinking. She is able to feel jealousy towards things Val considers superior to her, and constantly tries to convince Val that she doesn't need Veronyka. After Val yelled at her that she was worth nothing in comparison to Veronyka, she attempted to kill her sister.

Sidra is also noted to like her women "buxom and blonde", which implies she is lesbian or bi.

Biography[]

Pre-series[]

She serves Val's army in her patrol and works with Doriyan unquestioningly, because of their binds. When Val dies, the bind does too, but she doesn't question her actions and remains completely loyal.

Heart of Flames[]

Val seeks her out for her plan using papers made by Ilithya, and Sidra immediately lets her place the bond. They on Ignix and Oxana would appear near Rolan's mansion.

They attack a merchant caravan carrying Ferronese weapons along the Iron Road. When Veronyka shows up, they attack soldiers hurting animages in Arboria, and Sidra tells Val how she's impressed with Veronyka's ruthlessness and combat ability. When Val decides Veronyka is too much of a threat, she ends up luring and capturing Xephyra on Val's orders.

She ends up leaving Val temporarily. When Ignix burns Val, she rescues her and takes her to the Ruins of Aura on Val's request.

Wings of Shadow[]

Sidra did not live with Val in Aura, but spent almost all her time healing her, begging and borrowing from nearby villages to get tinctures and salves. She relished any opportunity to be of use to her queen, and after she became lower value in comparison to Onyx, she only wanted to prove herself more. Because everything Onyx touched died, Sidra was the main reason Val hadn't starved to death, bringing her all her supplies when Val called using her bind. Despite that, neither she nor Oxana could bear to be around the strix for long, like all other living things.

After Sidra is sent to find out what Veronyka's doing in Rushlea, she reports back to Val and Morra after possibly feeling some remorse at the destruction of Azurec's Eyrie, telling her about the attacks of the Unnamed and about the Grand Council meeting. On Val's orders, Sidra sets up a meeting with the leaders of the Unnamed, and prepares to go to the meeting to make them think the Riders were, in fact, a threat.

When she arrives at the Grand Council meeting, she is assumed to be an ally of the Phoenix Riders, and after announcing Lord Rolan's death and that Avalkyra Ashfire is alive, she kills the judge to begin a chaotic attack.

When Avalkyra goes to Rushlea to lure Veronyka out and to meet with the Unnamed leaders, she shows her distaste for Veronyka, even asking to kill her.

When Val encounters the now-Apex Veronyka, Val dismisses the commoner Sidra as below the non-Val-affiliated Veronyka. She, expressing jealousy, tries to kill Veronyka. Val takes the arrow instead.
