Wings of Shadow is the third book in the Crown of Feathers series. It's presumably named after Val and her Bonded Strix.

- The book is told from several points of view, namely: Veronyka, Tristan, Sev, Avalkyra, Elliot, and Sparrow. Sparrow is the only new narrator of chapters in this book (Ignix is the narrator of the snippets each chapter)
- Ignix's italicized quotes each chapter marks the only time a non-human character has narrated.
